I am the Creative Producer for an Aboriginal Australian puppetry theatre show Song for the Mardoowarra. The show is in the languages of Ngykina and English. The director of the show is Gwen Knox of Big Mama Productions who is a member of UNIMA.
The show will be coming to Charleville Mezier for the festival OFF in September 2019. It will be easier to rehearse in Brussels for 3 weeks before the performances and we are looking for a dramaturg who would be interested in helping us develop the show so it is more easily understood to universal audiences. It currently has a lot of English text.
Could you recommend anyone who is based in Brussels ( we are in Etterbeek) who would be willing take on this unique creative challenge? They will be paid from our funding with the Western Australian government grant.
We would also appreciate any help you can provide to accommodate the artists from Australia while they are in Brussels – it is very expensive to cover all our costs but we very motivated to share Indigenous stories through Puppetry in Europe and are very excited to be part of the festival.
We would also like to do a showing in Brussels. If you could suggest an appropriate venue to do a showing where we invite guest to provide critical feedback for the show.
If you would like to meet I would be very happy
